Castle Oliver nestles between two beautiful unspoilt villages of Ardpatrick and Ballyorgan, both of these villages have pubs, Ardpatrick’s pub enjoys live bands every weekend also set dancing once a week. Ballyhoura mountain bike trails are less than five minutes away, it’s the largest trail network of its kind in Ireland, and it provides many options of off road cycling. Don’t worry if you forgot your bike as you can hire one locally.
Castle Oliver is ideally located for day trips visit Bunratty Castle and its Folk Park, drop into Durty Nellie’s pub for a pint of the black stuff. Visit the historic treaty city of Limerick with King Johns Castle. Close by is Adare with its Championship Golf course, enjoy a splendid meal in Adare Manor.
An hour’s drive away is county Tipperary’s Rock of Cashel, this historic castle towers over the small town of Cashel, home of Cashel blue cheese.
Cork city is one hours drive with its excellent shops, concerts and nightlife, something for everyone here. County Corks Fota House and Wildlife Park is a great trip for the whole family. Visit the Blarney Estate and kiss the Blarney Stone at the castle then visit Blarney House where portraits of the Oliver Family hang. Make a day of it and visit Killarney’s National Park, take a trip on a horse and cart to Muckross House, then visit the tradional farms.
Fishing can be arranged on the river Blackwater “known as the Irish Rhine” or go on a fishing trip from one of west corks picturesque harbours. There are a number of good golf courses nearby, Charieville, Mitchelstown, and the famous championship course of Adare.
